We are towards the end of the construction process for this project in Mill Valley. This project was a challenge because of its location. As is commonly the case in Marin, there was no easy access point to the site for men and equipment. The result was much of the work here had to be done be hand. In many cases materials were moved a bucket or handful at a time.

The objective for the design here was to create a clean modern aesthetic to match the overall look of the residence, and the feel of the fixtures and furniture of the residence. The design features Ipe wood, also known as Brazilian Walnut. One of the distinct features of this project was the transformation of a bland concrete retaining wall, using Ipe as cladding. The result is a sophisticated look that masked the visual impact and stark feel of the old wall.
